You have the recipe, you've been shown how to cook it, but where do you buy the ingredients? Below you'll find our suggestions as to where you should go for the very best produce on the market.
I buy most of my fresh fruit and vegetables from Paddy's Market in Chinatown. Located on the ground floor of the Market City building on Hay Street (end of Sussex Streeet), you will find dozens of fresh produce stalls stocked full of seasonal fruit and vegetables. The prices are a fraction of what you will pay at a green grocer or supermarket and I find that most of the produce here will last up to 2 weeks if kept in the crisper.
Great bargains can also be found at the fresh seafood hall located at the rear of the markets. The quality might not always be up to the standards of the Sydney Seafood Market, however the seafood is fresh and the prices are low!
Paddy's Market, Haymarket is open 9am-5pm every Thursday to Sunday.
